El Nido Palawan, Philippines
More than 7,000 Islands Waiting for You
The Philippines is an archipelago made up of more than 7,000 islands. This means that there are so many wonderful sights for you to explore and discover. One of the many things that the Philippines is most famous for is the large number of beautiful beaches on its different islands.
We are definitely island people. Ave was born in the Philippines and is a proud island girl wherever she goes and coming to the Philippines for Martin was almost like love at first sight, making him an honorary island boy!
The Philippine beaches are some of the best in the world and they are each a piece of paradise for local and foreign tourists alike. They are perfect for both thrillseekers and beach bums. The Philippines is filled with countless sandy shores, but here we name our top 10 favorite beaches in the Philippines. Make sure to read thoroughly because we also sprinkled in some bonus beaches!

Top 10 Beaches of the Philippines
In no particular order, here are the 10 best beaches that the Philippines has to offer!
1. Alona Beach
Located on Panglao Island in Bohol, Alona Beach has a thriving ecosystem. Panglao island is one of the forerunners of biodiversity in the Philippines. It was here that they discovered around 250 new species of crustaceans and more than 2,000 new species of mollusks. Alona has many family-friendly resorts perfect for traveling with the whole fam!
The thriving aquatic life makes Alona Beach a great spot for scuba diving and snorkeling enthusiasts. Other activities that you can participate in on this beach are island hopping, kitesurfing, and even (seasonal) dolphin watching. If you’re very interested in catching sight of some playful dolphins, you can also check out Dumaguete where the dolphins like to hang around as well. If you’re in the mood for a more chill day then this is still a great spot to lounge since Alona’s powder soft shores run about 1 and a half kilometers long, and despite being a natural treasure trove, it is still relatively quiet on this beach so you can sunbathe in peace.

2.Dumaluan Beach
If you travel further east from Alona Beach, you’ll make your way to another prime beach destination in Bohol: Dumaluan Beach. If Alona Beach was a mix of activities and relaxation, come over to Dumaluan for pure RnR. This beach is close to several bars and restaurants, so have a quick bite and make your way into the inviting crystal clear waters.
The stretch of pristine white sand is as picturesque as it gets, the perfect spot to lay down and read a book, listen to some music, or just watch the waves roll in. Sit on the beach with a cocktail in hand and watch as golden hour comes by.

3.White Island
Located in the Visayas region of the Philippines, Camiguin is a small island known for its peaceful ambiance and natural beauty. It is a top destination if you are looking for a more calm and laid back beach experience. One of the most sought after experiences on this island is walking along the shores of the White Island.
Camiguin holds a special little secret. When the tide is low, the White Island emerges. Once it does you are greeted to what looks like an endless white sand beach that contrasts beautifully against the dark and harsh stones of the volcanoes surrounding the island. The view from this spot is simply breathtaking.

4.White Beach
Boracay is one of the most popular destinations in the Philippines, making its White Beach one the most popular beaches of the country. Thousands of local and foreign tourists flock to its powder soft white sands and revitalizing aqua blue water every year. We have made some beautiful memories in Boracay with our first family trip here with baby Tokyo and both of our moms, all of Ave’s girls trips and bestie bonding sessions, even spending a working Valentine's Day here in 2021.

Martin once said that Filipinos are lucky to have Boracay in their country. It is a consistently beautiful place that always gives us a reason to smile every time we return. White Beach is the quintessential Boracay spot, but for a more lowkey Bora beach, you might want to check out Puka Beach.
Bonus: Puka Beach - Puka Beach definitely lives up to its name. As you walk around you will be greeted by many local stalls selling some beautiful puka shell jewelry and even household items that serve as great pasalubong and souvenirs from your trip. We would say that your trip to Boracay isn’t complete without taking a visit to Puka Beach. It is much more quiet than Boracay’s White Beach but just as beautiful.

5.Nacpan Beach
Just like Boracay, El Nido is home to some of the most famous beaches of the Philippines, and one of those beaches is Nacpan Beach. Nacpan Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in El Nido - and that is saying a lot with the already high standard of beaches that El Nido has. Feel the seabreeze in your hair as you make your way to a calm and picturesque beach.
Nacpan Beach
Nacpan Beach is great if you just want a chill lowkey day lounging on the beach. Nacpan Beach is a long stretch of beach that is about 3-4 km, which means that you can find your own little spot to claim for the day. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in El Nido. There are also some restaurants lining the beach so you can pop in and have a snack when you get hungry. Lay in the sun, listen to music and/or read a book, take a dip, and then lay again (or hide under the shade of the many coconut trees)! Admire the calm beauty of Nacpan and soak up all that good vitamin D!

6.San Vicente
Also located in Palawan, the glorious island that houses El Nido and Nacpan Beach, is San Vicente. When we first visited San Vicente, we instantly felt at home here, even more after speaking with the friendly locals. It is definitely more peaceful here compared to other spots in El Nido with little to tourists. When we got there it was low tide so Martin was even able to drive on the shore itself. He couldn’t remember the last time he had so much fun just cruising on the beach.
San Vicente is also a great spot to catch some waves. The locals here were very friendly, giving way for Martin to catch some waves and even cheering for him. Another thing that makes San Vicente special is that this is where sea turtles sometimes lay their eggs. We were lucky enough to witness some green sea turtles making their way to the sea which will be their home for much of their lives.

7.Balabac
If you are a fan of spotless long stretching sandbars then Balabac is the perfect place for you! The whiteness of the shore in Balabac is almost blinding, so make sure to pack some sunglasses.
Off the tip of Palawan, Balabac is home to some of the longest sandbars in the entire Philippines. These sandbars offer an idyllic escape. They are perfect for taking a lovely stroll by the water, a brisk jog, or even for just laying down in and relaxing.

8.Paradise Beach
Located on Bantayan Island in Cebu, Paradise Beach truly lives up to its name. Travel to this secluded hideaway and explore the island by motorcycle to get an authentic taste of island living without too many other tourists present. Paradise Beach is also sometimes referred to as Sandira Beach - but no matter what you call it, it still feels like paradise.
The beach made waves (pun not intended) after it was featured in a famous Filipino movie called Camp Sawi. Like the characters in the movie, people now come to this calm beach to catch a disconnect from their busy lives, rest, and recharge.

9.Bon Bon Beach
Romblon, located to the south of Marinduque in the Luzon Region, is sometimes referred to as the “Marble Capital of the Philippines” due to the large deposits of marble all over the island. But more than just marble, Romblon also supplies some serene locations. One such location is Bon Bon Beach.
Take a break from the fast pace of city living and feel time slow down on this stunning 2km long sandbar that emerges during low tide. More than just the lovely sand, this beach is also lined with some luscious tropical plants. This quiet spot offers soft sand, calm waters, and hours of relaxation as you wander around the beach. Bon Bon Beach is also known to be one of the best spots to catch a view of the sunset.
10.Siargao
This wouldn’t be a Marve list of the top 10 best beaches in the Philippines without including Siargao island. Siargao is our favorite island ever. It is where we celebrated our first anniversary, got engaged, and even brought baby Tokyo before she was born. We’ve even lived here during the pandemic for around 9 months, and yet we still keep coming back for more!

Located in Surigao del Norte, Siargao is the Surfing Capital of the Philippines. There are many great surfing spots scattered around the Philippines but it is Siargao’s gnarly waves that beckon beginner and pro surfers from around the world the most. Siargao greets visitors with welcoming waves and the warm smiles of its locals. Known for its youthful energy and vibrant atmosphere, Life moves at a more forgiving pace here. But it is still able to offer a cosmopolitan experience with the culmination of people from different cultures and backgrounds, and the new businesses and ideas they bring with them.
Bonus: Northern Siargao - Northern Siargao is our favorite spot in Siargao. It is much more relaxed and quiet. The beauty of Siargao is that you have the energetic hotspot around General Luna and the mellow and more tranquil side in Northern Siargao, with gorgeous beaches all around. It’s the best of both worlds!
