12 Delicious Must Try Restaurants in Boracay

The Sunny Side Cafe

Start your day bright and early with a hefty breakfast. If you aren’t much of an early bird though, never fear because The Sunny Side Cafe serves their delicious breakfast all day around. Pair your breakfast with a crisp coffee that is sure to keep you energized throughout your entire beach day.

This beachfront restaurant’s menu has a mix of classic foreign and local breakfast food and some more experimental options. Some of their dishes include a bacon and mango grilled cheese sandwich, espresso-caramel pancakes, and shakshuka. You can also taste their take on the staple choriburger which is chorizo in a burger that is famous around the island of Boracay for that sweet pork sausage taste in a complementary savory bun.

barLO Resto Lounge at the Two Seasons Boracay Resort

Speaking of staples on the island, your visit to Boracay isn’t complete without dining in barLo for one meal. The barLO Resto Lounge is famous across all three stations of Boracay’s White Beach. Their menu is a mix of European and Asian dishes but it’s most famously known for its oyster sisig and 4 cheese pizza which you are sure to end up craving even after you’ve left Boracay.

Their 4 cheese pizza blends every flavor together smoothly, with each cheese complementing the other instead of overpowering them. The crust is so thin and crunchy that one slice just won’t be enough! For the oyster sisig, the crispy and delectable dish is definitely best paired with some steaming hot white rice. Be warned though that barLO operates on a first come first serve basis, and since their dishes are famous in and out of Boracay, you might want to arrive early to secure a spot and lessen your waiting time, especially if you are coming during peak meal hours.

Cafe Maruja

Make your way down to Station 3 for a great all-day brunch spot. Cafe Maruja’s beachfront vibes and design will ensure that you enjoy a good meal paired with great ambiance. Snap a picture of you and your meal in this incredibly photogenic spot!

One of Cafe Maruja’s staples is their Buddha Bowls which have different combinations. With some also being vegan and vegetarian friendly. If you’re in the mood for something cold and refreshing to sip on they also have a wide drinks menu. They offer coffee, smoothies, mocktails, and what they call “Freak Shakes” which are loaded milkshakes, a nice way to cool off on the beach.

Cha Cha’s Beach Cafe

Over at Station 2 is the COAST Boracay hotel’s in-house restaurant. Their menu is a global experience with Filipino, Mediterranean, Mexican, and even Malaysian dishes. Cha Cha’s offers a little bit of everything here. From classic seafood, pizza, salads, tacos, to some tasty desserts like tres leches.

Other than its universal menu, Cha Cha’s is also famous for its “Cha Cha’s Sundown” sessions. They bring out talented DJs or live musicians to celebrate the golden hour, and even offer a buy 1 get 1 happy hour from 3pm-8pm.

Jonah’s Fruit Shake and Snack Bar

What better thing to make you think “this is the life” than to be walking on the powder soft beach of Boracay with the blue water to your side and a fresh cool shake in your hand. Jonah’s is another Boracay staple that you need to visit to complete your Boracay beach vacation.

Jonah’s has many combinations of flavors to tempt the taste buds and make your sweat feel nonexistent. One of their most famous flavors would have to be the banana choco peanut shake. Let this creamy drink cool you down to your toes. What started off as a little stall has now become multiple branches along the island so you are sure to pass by one as you explore around the beach. They have also begun serving little snacks and quick bites for a nice post swim snack. You can try out their own version of the choriburger as well and decide who does it best.

Streetmarket

Located at the unique lifestyle hub that is Station X (between Station 2 and 3) is Streetmarket. If you are with a group that has different food preferences or you just can’t decide on one single place to eat, Streetmarket may be the perfect answer for you. Streetmarket is the one and only food hall in Boracay with 8 restaurants that will give you a happy tummy no matter which one you choose.

Here is a quick rundown of all 8 restaurants that can be found at Streetmarket.

Streetmarket is a great bargain because it’s like 8 restaurants in 1 go! If you want to extra treat yourself then you can get a little bit of something from each store and have a mini buffet feast at the dining area in this aesthetic and vibrant spot.

Los Indios Bravos

Translated to English as “The Brave Natives/Filipinos”, Los Indios Bravos pays tributes to the great Filipino writers and poets during the Spanish colonization that used their words to illustrate the time of injustice they lived in. This includes our very own National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.

Los Indios Bravos is famously known for their large selection of special locally made craft beers. But they also have some great bar chow inspired by dishes around the world that go perfectly with the Filipino handcrafted beers. They also have bigger dishes if you are in the mood to have a meal there such as steaks, ribs, fresh oysters, risotto, sandwiches, salads, and more.

Merly’s BBQ

Also known as Merly’s BBQ Boracay Chori & Longga Burger, if you are committed to finding the ultimate choriburger on boracay island then there is no better place to check out than Merly’s. Merly’s may be considered one of the originators of the classic choriburger.

While other restaurants may have fancified and put their own twists on the choriburger, Merly’s keeps it simple. The sweet sausage chorizo is simply paired with ketchup and placed between two hamburger buns. Simplicity at its finest.

Nonie’s

Eating at Nonie’s doesn’t just offer a filling and healthy meal, but you can also rest easy knowing that their ingredients are all locally and ethically sourced from within Boracay and the surrounding islands.

Taste the fresh ingredients through their masterfully crafted fusion dishes which are Filipino inspired. Try their sticky pork ribs, food bowls, or choose something from their all-day brunch options like a healthy grain bowl. Some portions of their menu also change depending on what ingredients are in season at the time. They also make sure to offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

Dos Mestizos

If you’re in the mood for a more upscale restaurant, and ready to splurge a bit, Dos Mestizos is a great place to do so. Their menu is made up of traditional Filipino-Castilian heirloom recipes. Dos Mestizos serves some of the best Filipino-Spanish dishes not just on the island but in the entire country.

They have a vast assortment of tapas, and you won’t be disappointed by any choice. Some of the top tapas choices are the croquettes de jamon and chorizo hecho por dos mestizos, but again, you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. But if you want a heavier meal, they are also known for their flavorful paellas and salpicao de vaca.

Spicebird

Spicebird is also owned by The Sunny Side Cafe Group so you can be sure to expect the same high quality standard for their food. Spicebird’s specialty is piri-piri or peri-peri chicken. The word “piri-piri” is the Swahili translation of “pepper”. Now, piri-piri is known as the flavorful sauce that has a colorful history with roots in Africa and Portugal.

Spicebird definitely knows how to wield this spice to the best of its potential. The chicken itself is already juicy making each bite an excellent gastronomic experience, but then the sauce adds an extra kick that just makes it even better. Spicebird offers different sauce types like their Signature Piri-Piri, Spicy Hotbird, Citrus Garlic and Lime, and an Aromatic Curry. If you want to try something different you should also order their piri-piri sisig, who knew that the two would work so well together! Their menu also extends to include sandwiches, burgers, dessert, and vegetarian and vegan options.

Lemoni Café and Restaurant

First opening their doors in 2005, Lemoni Café has been a top spot in Boracay ever since. While they offer main course dishes, it is their pastries that have captured the hearts and tummies of people from all over the world.

True to their name, their lemon bar is one of the best on the island. They also have a strong selection of cakes, tarts, and cookies. Some of their products you can buy in dozens in case you want to take them home and save for later. Lemoni Café also makes the most out of the seasonal fruits by changing up some of their menu to cater to ingredients which are best for each season.
